Apologies and Updates from Spain to Albania

Hello, fellow travel enthusiasts! I hope you've been well and thriving while I've been away for the past three weeks. I owe you all a big apology for the lack of updates during this time. Life took an unexpected turn while I was in Spain, and then work got incredibly busy upon my return. But fear not, I'm back and committed to regular updates.

During my time in Spain, I encountered an unexpected and rather unpleasant health issue. I came down with a peritonsillar abscess, which, for those who aren't familiar, is a painful collection of pus that forms near the tonsils (see title picture). I won't get too vulgar with details, but it took an ER visit to take care of. The Dr said that if I weren't traveling he would've drained it on the spot and recommended that I have my tonsils removed when I return to the States. I will say that my Spanish healthcare experience was pleasant overall. I was out of the Uber saw the Dr and back into the Uber on my way home in under 40 minutes. Nonetheless, it's not the kind of Spanish experience I had in mind! This unfortunate turn of events sidelined me for a while, but I'm on the road to recovery now.

One of the biggest disappointments during my time in Spain was that I didn't get to fully experience Madrid as I had planned. The illness forced me to put my exploration on hold, and I promise Madrid, I'll be back to make up for it. Your vibrant streets and rich culture deserve my undivided attention, and I'm determined to give it to you.

On a brighter note, I did manage to experience some incredible Spanish cuisine during my stay. I dined at some truly remarkable restaurants and stumbled upon unique bars that left me in awe. One thing that piqued my interest was "natural wine." It was a new concept for me, and I found it incredibly enticing. The idea of wine made with minimal intervention and additives aligns perfectly with the kind of authentic experiences I seek in my travels.

Now, I find myself in the beautiful city of Tirana, Albania. This vibrant capital is filled with history, culture, and a thriving food scene, and I can't wait to share my adventures here with you all. The next post will be filled with updates and stories as we get back to our regularly scheduled programming.

Thank you for your patience during my hiatus, and I'm excited to get back on this new journey together. Stay tuned for more exciting travel stories, tips, and recommendations from around the world!
